Founder, Chief Financial Officer

Hacker Engineering, Inc. was founded by David Hacker in 1980. Now, with more than forty years’ experience in engineering and surveying in Southern California, his foresight was visionary:  To build a foundation for excellence.

Today David Hacker is the Chief Financial Officer for Hacker Engineering, Inc. His strengths, among others, are his time-honored leadership and managerial skills. Previously he was the President of Hacker Engineering Company, Inc. and the General Manager of John H. Hacker and Associates. His extensive experience was acquired while a member of various other firms in Southern California, where he provided expertise in a design capacity and worked as chief of survey parties.

His list of engineering and surveying projects in Southern California is long; he has participated in the planning and engineering of numerous public works projects, assessment districts, trunk sewer designs, flood control projects, hillside developments, very flat grade developments, country clubs, large condominium projects and recreation centers. He has helped his clients obtain general plan amendments and zone changes as well as process affordable housing projects.

Since the late 1970s, David Hacker’s focus has been residential developments in the Coachella Valley, High Desert and Banning Pass area. He has performed hands-on engineering work on numerous other projects including office and residential condominiums, industrial parks, commercial developments, mobile home projects and others. He has also prepared major master site plans including both executive and championship golf courses, working with a number of world-renowned golf course designers. He is a member of the California Society of the National Society of Professional Engineers, and a corporate member of the California Land Surveyors Association (CLSA).

Michael Hacker, PE
Chief Executive Officer, Project Engineer

Chief Executive Officer as well as Project Engineer, Michael Hacker is a central figure in the company’s daily operations. Born and raised in the Coachella Valley desert, Michael Hacker brings to the team his unique set of strengths: He is a true problem-solver, and possesses proficient managerial skills. Prior to his posts here, he worked in a design capacity for Hacker Engineering Company, Inc.

Since 1986, Michael Hacker has worked in the engineering field in the Southern California area. He has been involved in the engineering of numerous projects including street improvements, flood control, pipelines and condominiums as well as major subdivisions, golf courses and mobile home projects.

Since 1982 Michael Hacker has had extensive firsthand experience with engineering and computers. Specializing in Computer Aided Design, he has operated CivilCADD, TerrCADD, and softdesk comprehensive design packages and AutoCADD drafting software. His hydrology experience includes HEC-2, Diffusion Hydrodynamic Model (DHM-21), various unit hydrographs and rational method programs. These applications have been utilized on both mainframe and PC platforms. Data transferral, communication and networking complete Mr. Hacker’s considerable software background.

Programming and analysis of computers in the engineering field offer immense value-added computer experience that greatly enhances civil engineering applications.

Michael Hacker is a member of the California Society of the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE).

John Rodriguez , LSIT
Vice President/Director of Operations

Mr. Rodriguez is Vice President, Director of Operations for Hacker Engineering, Inc. He has hands-on responsibility for the company’s operations and as such, is a great asset. Mr. Rodriguez’s strengths are highlighted by proven organizational and managerial skills as well as his capabilities in client relations.

He offers in-depth professional experience, both in the field and in management. John Rodriguez began here in 1996 as a chainman, quickly becoming a party chief and continuing his work in the field. Within four years, he was promoted to run the survey department, handling all administration and management functions.

With assured success, Mr. Rodriguez became office manager, wherein he ran all administrative functions for the company. His talents soon earned him the position of Vice President and Director of Operations, a post he enjoys today.

John Rodriguez is a member of the California Land Surveyors Association (CLSA).

Education:  Mt. San Jacinto Junior College.
